The Great African Sea Forest is the only forest of giant bamboo kelp on our planet and provides home, shelter and feeding grounds for thousands of marine species. The forest fringes the shores of Cape Town and stretches 1000km up the West Coast. Considered the “coral reefs” of cold and temperate waters, kelp ecosystems play a critical role in maintaining a stable climate.
